ToolsWaiting too long for the light to changeI must comment on stupid decisions whenever I encounter them. I work on the Fernandes compound (south of the Bus Route) so I must go through the northern compound and cross the Bus Route to get to the southern compound every day along with scores of other workers. Now, three years ago there were no lights at the intersection and after many collisions the authorities finally found it necessary to put lights. However while I agree that the lights are imperative from a safety aspect, they are now set to change every four minutes. Four minutes! Have you ever heard of a traffic light that changes every four minutes anywhere in the world? Can you imagine the back up of cars created inside the compounds? Surely two minutes could suffice, but we have to be ridiculous in everything we do. Another problem it creates is that some motorists who do not work in the compounds get the impression that the light is stuck and try to cross on the red. I urge whoever is responsible to look into this evident oversight. W Dopson Woodbrook |
