Way to go, KI

KI, the young superstar, was a deserving winner at the Lotto Plus Chutney Soca Monarch Competition at Skinner Park.

This year’s competition was judged fairly, but its organisation could have used an extra push. Thankfully that 50 per cent of the final score for each artiste was made by the adjudicators.  I am glad that the organisers met midway with the telecommunications sponsors, and limited text-to-vote contributions to three texts per phone.

KI’s win was transparent. I truly believe they used a better system. After watching some of the more experienced chutney artistes perform I wonder why are they are still here?  Congrats KI for a job well done.

I am expecting great things from you!
