What about ex-Caroni workers?

The Central Bank Governor has assured policyholders that CLICO will continue to honour claims and that he is committed to a quick resolution to the matter.  Perhaps the Governor could turn his attention to the plight of the former Caroni Ltd workers who have been waiting ten years and more for a resolution of their matter.

The Soca Warriors have had their struggles to be given their due brought to an end through the largesse of the State.

The solution for the former sugar workers does not enquire any expenditure of public funds except to provide facilities to which they are entitled as citizens and for which they will have to pay in any event.

For this refusal to honour the ruling of the court and its commitment to observe it the Government should be made to pay interest on the money already paid for the residential plots and punitive damages to the persons they have disadvantaged for so many years.
