Wild and reckless driving as Trini as callaloo

THe Sunday morning highway tragedy that triggered all those emotions and the massive Monday morning disruption could have happened anywhere in sweet T&T.

Just a few weeks ago five people lost their lives in a Tobago crash.

That's the way we drive – with no respect for anyone's life.

On a weekend or a holiday or late at night someone can drive at breakneck speed from north to south or east to west, flouting every rule and regulation imaginable, and not be stopped by the police. Maybe by a tree or a lamppost, but not by a cop.

That's the way we like it. Our road wildness is as Trini as soca and crab and callaloo. Boy, we could real drive!
