With a twinkle in his eyes...
I regard it as both an honour and a privilege to be able to refer to the late Justice Ulric Cross as a personal friend.
I first met him in the early 1980s and we maintained a very cordial and mutually respectful relationship over the years. One of the things that I always found remarkable about him was the fact that in spite of his many accomplishments as a Royal Air Force fighter pilot and former squadron leader during World War II and his subsequent eminent diplomatic and legal career, he always came across as a very friendly, humane, down-to-earth and unpretentious person.
A dear American friend to whom I introduced him many years ago still remembers him today as “the man with a twinkle in his eyes.” So very true. My sincere condolences to his family on his passing. May he rest in peace. Sadly, T&T has lost a most prominent son of the soil.
