Tools'Losing' investmentI read in the Express of August 14 an amazing article headlined "Upset businessmen count their losses". It was amazing to read that Messrs Hadeed and Aboud expressed dissatisfaction with the decision by our PM to declare Monday a holiday. If there were a natural disaster such as an earthquake the businesses would have suffered the same losses and would have accepted it. This event was an earthquake of positive proportions. There are some things that you can't put a price tag to and national pride is one of them. Is it that these gentlemen are not patriotic and only concerned about their well-being? How much are you willing to invest in national pride. Consider the "losses" an investment. T&T's greatest challenge is crime. If we want to reduce crime we have to come together — businesses and consumers alike — to fight crime. While some of us would be impacted more than others by the decision our PM took, we must not complain but rejoice, because we have produced a talent that has inspired all (or so I believe) and would motivate our youth to pursue greatness and this is not something you schedule but embrace the moment.
