Killed in accident

At about 1.50 a.m. yesterday, officers at the Arima Police Station received a report of a bad motorvehicular accident along the Eastern Main Road, Wallerfield.

Upon investigating, they came across a silver Mitsubushi Lancer motor vehicle on the east bound lane of the main road, in the vicinty of Antigua Road. The front of the vehicle, police said, had been damaged, and nearby, there were parts of a motorbike. The officers combed the grassy area near the main road for signs of any injured parties and were horrified to come across the body of a man. The body, police said, was missing its right arm.

The area was cordoned off, and the arm was eventually found a short distance away.

Police said the body was later identified as that of Roshan Rampersad, 38, of Monan Road, Wallerfield.

Investigations are continuing.
