17-year-old shot in John John

A 17-YEAR-OLD girl was among five people who were shot on Sunday afternoon while liming outside a housing development in John John, Port of Spain.

Another woman was also shot during the attack, which left all five victims at hospital up to yesterday, said police.

Officers said sometime around 4.30 p.m., the five—Sherwin Beckles, 35, Alicia Phillip, 34, William Alexander, 19, Stephen Brown, 29, and teenager Tabitha Phillip—were standing close to Hillview Plannings when a car pulled up nearby, after which four men came out of the vehicle and approached the group before opening fire.

They then went back into the car and sped off, police said.

Beckles, Alexander, Brown and Alicia Phillip all live at John John, while Tabitha Phillip lives at Sea Lots in Port of Spain.

Officers of Besson Street Police Station went to the scene and took all five victims to Port of Spain General Hospital.
