By By Trevor Watson and Sue-Ann Wayow

THE body of a teenager was discovered on Friday night in Chaguanas shortly after he was shot.

Police reports indicated that Reon Roberts, 18, was at Gaston Street when he was shot around 8 p.m.

His body was found in a drain.

Roberts lived with relatives at Caroni Savannah Road.

His aunt Leslie-Ann Roberts said the last time she saw her nephew was on Wednesday before he went to the beach.

She said Roberts spent six months in prison for a robbery and was granted bail three weeks ago.

She said he began work as a labourer  and on Thursday, his supervisor visited his home after he did not show up for work.

On Friday night, the family received a call that he was shot.

Roberts’ grandmother Shirley Roberts said: “He went astray because all children will need guidance and when they do not get guidance they tend to go astray and that happened to my grandson.”

However, Leslie-Ann Roberts said he was trying to make a change in his life and sold drinks on the streets for Carnival.
