TWO MEN who were found dead following separate incidents between Tuesday and Wednesday remained unidentified up to last night.
The first incident occurred in the Belmont area.
Police said they received reports around 6 p.m. on Tuesday that several gunshots were heard on Cemetery Street, Maryland, Belmont, but after searching the area they found nothing.
On Wednesday around 6 a.m., a resident of the area was on her way to work when she found the bullet-riddled corpse of a man.
Police said he was dark-skinned, of African descent and wore a black T-shirt and dark-blue, three-quarter pants.
The body was moved to the Port of Spain mortuary and a post-mortem will take place after the body has been positively identified.
Hours later Wednesday in Valencia, another body was found.
Police said around 2.30 p.m., the operator of an excavator who was carrying out works along Valencia Old Road stepped out of the vehicle and while relieving himself in the bushes he observed there was an unusually large number of corbeaux where he stood.
He walked deeper into the bushes to investigate and found the body of a headless man.
When a team of officers arrived, the body was not only headless but completely naked.
The police could only say that he was brown-skinned. —GG
