Tonight “Fantastic Friday” will determine who takes home the first prize of $2 million in the Power category of the soca monarch competition.

Last year this was shared by joint winners of the title, Machel Montano and veteran SuperBlue, who made his comeback to the competition,

This year all eyes will be on the two with defending Power and Groovy soca monarch Montano singing last in both categories. The Digicel International Groovy Soca competition and the Play Whe International Soca Monarch competition take place tonight at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, Wrightson Road, Port of Spain. Montano sings in position number 12 and 11 respectively.

SuperBlue (Austin Lyons) will sing in position number five.

The event annually draws an audience of thousands who see it as the official start to their Carnival weekend.
