...Police surround Beetham area

UP to 7.30 last night, police from the Besson Street station were looking for two men and a woman who were kidnapped from a red-band maxi-taxi that had stopped along the Priority Bus Route near 19th Street, Beetham Gardens.
Police said around 1.30 p.m., the maxi-taxi was heading west along the PBR when one of the passengers asked to be let out.
The maxi-taxi stopped and as the man got out, three gunmen ran to the vehicle.
They grabbed the two men and a woman, who was described as “light-skinned of African descent”.
One of the men who was abducted is Kendall Sommers, who lives in Carenage.
The maxi-taxi driver then sped off.
Police said he never made a report to them and had it not been for a member of the public, who saw the commotion and then called the police, they may have never known what happened.
Minutes after receiving the report, a team of officers led by Insp Sahadeo Singh surrounded the area and began searching for the three people.
Enquiries are on-going.
