The fear experienced by a woman who was allegedly kidnapped, robbed and raped led police to ask the court to deny bail to men charged with the offences.
Police prosecutor Sgt Peter Francis objected to bail being granted to Dillon Spencer, Joel Forbes and Gelani Williams when they appeared before Couva Magistrate Anna Ryan on Thursday.
He said the woman was fearful for her life, as her alleged attackers knew her address.
The young woman claimed she was taken from outside her Couva home, robbed and sexually assaulted last weekend.
Spencer faced charges of rape and buggery, and was jointly charged with Forbes and Williams for kidnapping and robbery with aggravation.
Ryan said the alleged offence was prevalent and serious and denied the three bail. She ordered they re-appear in court on January 17.
