4 WASA plants down after floods

More than half of the Water and Sewerage Authority's (WASA) production facilities which went down following Thursday's heavy downpour are back up and running.

However there are four which remain down.

In a release yesterday afternoon corporate communications manager Ellen Lewis said customers in Trinidad, being supplied by the Quare Water Treatment Plant, Las Cuevas Waterworks and Biche Water Treatment Plant would continue to experience a disruption in their water supply.

"In Tobago, all production plants are back in service with the exception of the Charlotteville Intake."

A total of nine of WASA's production facilities went down on Thursday because of turbid raw water conditions and clogged intakes.

This left several communities in Trinidad and Tobago without a water supply up to yesterday morning.
