$70,000 bail for cop

POLICE Constable Terrence Seales appeared in the Port of Spain
Magistrates' Court on Monday charged with perverting the course of
public justice and with misbehavior in public office.
Seales, who was granted bail at the police station before his court appearance, was charged in connection with the disappearance of a vehicle from the compound of the Morvant Police Station.
The vehicle was discovered in central Trinidad on August 2. Seales was charged based on the advice of Director of Public Prosecutions
Roger Gaspard, following an investigation by members of the Professional Standards Unit.
Seales, 35, of Coconut Drive, Malabar, Arima, appeared before Magistrate Marcia Murray, charged with misbehavior on August 5, and intent to pervert justice on August 7.
He was granted bail totalling $70,000. The misbehavior charge was transferred to the Chaguanas Magistrates' Court to be August 16. The other charge was adjourned to August 14, to be heard in the Port of Spain Magistrates' Court. Seales will be suspended pending the determination of the criminal charges.
