$75,000 bail for man charged with bouncing WPC
A security officer who allegedly struck a police officer with the car he retrieved, after it had been wrecked, yesterday faced the court.
Christopher Bertrand, 26, had the charge read to him that last Friday at Knox Street, San Fernando, he caused bodily harm to WPC Jonelle Coomansingh by wanton driving.
Bertrand was yesterday represented by defence attorney Suresh Dodal and he (Bertrand) was allowed to continue on the $75,000 bail he had been given at the police station following the alleged incident.
Senior Magistrate Indra Ramoo-Haynes yesterday adjourned the case to March 5, 2014.
It is alleged Bertrand went to retrieve his impounded vehicle at the wrecking bay when he got into an argument with the policewoman who was at the security booth of the bay.
Bertrand allegedly started the car and struck Coomansingh. She suffered injury to her left leg.
