Tools9 missing as boats collide in Guyanal Georgetown At least nine people were reported missing after two boats carrying 20 people collided yesterday in the Mazaruni River, Essequibo. Transport Minister Robeson Benn told the Guyana-based demerarawaves.com website that the accident occurred around 1 p.m. at Crab Falls, 25 miles from Bartica. The website said several people had been taken to the Bartica Hospital and quoted Benn as saying the Maritime Administration had been informed and a search party launched. He said the two vessels involved in the accident were destroyed. |
