A stunt, says Rowley

Opposition Leader Dr Keith Rowley has described as a “stunt”, the public admission of former minister of justice Herbert Volney that he was responsible for the Section 34 fiasco.

He said he was embarrassed as a citizen and Member of Parliament to see the national flag and the coat of arms behind the Attorney General and former High Court judge Volney trying to pull that stunt on a serious matter like Section 34.

“The Attorney General choose to go inside his office and bring Volney grovelling to save face and to take responsibility for Section 34 and expect that we as a population would say ‘okay, the Prime Minister and the Cabinet are not responsible’. Give me a break!”

Rowley said Volney was seeking to benefit from the largesse from the Office of the Attorney General.
