The Arima Business Association (ABA) held their election of officers on February 19 at the Arima Town Hall, Sorzano Street, Arima at 5.30 p.m.
Prior to the election of officers, president Peter Jackson gave a report on the status of the ABA over the past years and its financial status. Past president Balliram Maharaj spoke about the importance of a business association which he described as a means of keeping the business community together. It was an opportunity, he said, for the business family to have a platform to voice their views on matters affecting the business community.
Presiding officer was Raj Jadoo.

The new executive plans to meet as soon as possible in order to discuss a plan of action for the way forward and also to meet with the Mayor, MP for Arima, the senior Police and other leading persons, a news release said.
