Acting CoP delivers Partap file to DPP

By Jensen LaVende

THE file that was supposed to have been delivered to the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) last week, concerning axed junior minister in the Ministry of National Security Collin Partap, was delivered yesterday.

Acting Commissioner of Police Stephen Williams delivered the file with the final document that he said needed to be completed. Last week Williams said he was awaiting one more document before sending the file.

Partap was fired as minister in the Ministry of National Security by Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar hours after he was arrested for allegedly refusing to submit to a breathalyser test after leaving Zen nightclub in Port of Spain on August 26.

On September 28, Williams said the file would have been submitted on or before October 15 to the DPP's office.

When contacted on October 15, Williams said he was awaiting a final document.
