DERRICKMAN Selwyn Simon, of Santa Flora, died from a single stab wound to the chest, an autopsy found on Tuesday.
The autopsy on Simon, 30, of Waddle Village, Santa Flora, was conducted at the Forensic Science Centre, St James, by Dr Hughvon Des Vignes.
Police said the suspect, a foreman at Territorial Services Ltd in Fyzabad, where Simon also worked, remained in custody yesterday.
Simon died at the Siparia District Health Facility, after he was stabbed during an argument with a man on Saturday evening, police said.
Police said Simon was travelling in a company vehicle along with the suspect when an argument broke out with the suspect, and Simon exited the vehicle near the Santa Flora Police Station.
Police said Simon went over to the side where the suspect was seated and the two began to fight.
A senior investigator said during the struggle, Simon was stabbed with a knife in his chest.
He was taken to the Siparia Health Facility where he succumbed to the wound.
The suspect, police said, was detained shortly after, travelling in a car in Santa Flora.
