Autopsy today on newborn

AN autopsy will be performed on the tiny body of a six-day-old baby boy today.

Baby Vishnu Sonny Jnr was pronounced dead on arrival at the Princes Town District Hospital at daybreak on Tuesday.

Police said there were no marks on violence on the child's body.

Little Vishnu was the first child to his parents, 27-year-old Vishnu Sonny and his wife Diane Salick, 26.

The family lives at St Croix Road Extension, Barrackpore.

Police said the couple fed the little boy and placed him on the bed to sleep around 5.30 a.m. He awoke minutes later.

The couple told police that their baby stopped breathing in his mother's arms.
