BREAKING NEWS - Morton dies in road accident

Former West Indies, Trinidad and Tobago and Leeward Islands cricketer Runako Morton died in a road accident, on the Solomon Hochoy Highway, last night. He was 33.

It is reported that Morton lost control of his car and hit a pole. He died on the spot.

Morton played 15 Tests for West Indies, scoring 573 runs at an average of 22.03. He also played 56 One-day internationals and seven Twenty20s. He scored 1,519 runs in ODIs, averaging 33.75.

Morton, who was born in Nevis, represented the Leeward Islands in first class cricket, and more recently, T&T. He had an impressive first class record, scoring 5,980 runs at an average of 39.60.
