Baby survives smash-up

Four adults taken to Mt Hope with injuries

FOUR adults and an eight-month-old baby escaped serious injury yesterday, following a motor vehicle smash-up along the Churchill-Roosevelt Highway, near the interchange in Aranjuez.

Police said the accident occurred at 1.45 a.m. when a grey Mazda 3 car heading east along the highway slammed into a dividing median, known as a “Jersey barrier”, and careened into the westbound lane.

The Mazda flipped on to its roof and a Nissan Medallist vehicle then slammed into the Mazda.

Another car then collided with the Medallist.

Barataria police who are continuing investigations said the four adults were taken to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex in Mt Hope, with minor injuries.

They were treated and discharged.

Police also said the baby did not sustain any injuries.

Barataria Police are continuing investigations.
