At seven days old, the firstborn of the sextuplets continues to be in critical condition at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) of the Mt Hope Women's Hospital.

The Sunday Express understands there were no changes in the baby's status and he continues to battle for life.

The baby boy was the firstborn of the sextuplets who were delivered last Monday via Caesarian section on 28-year-old mother Petra Lee Foon.

Both Lee Foon and the babies' father, Kieron Cummings, 29, have been receiving counselling and regular updates on the baby's condition.

The five other babies are also under close monitoring and are all breathing on their own without the assistance of ventilators.
