Bail for girl, 14, on gun; ammo charges

 A 14-YEAR-OLD Laventille girl, a woman and three men appeared in a  Princes Town court yesterday charged with possession of a firearm and ammunition. 

The teenager was granted $60,000 bail by a Justice of the Peace to return  to court on Tuesday. 

She appeared alongside Ornella Wankin, 24; Vishal Sookraj, 36, of La Romaine;  Kennyatter Vincent, 26, of Mon Repos; and Brendon Fourillier, 32, of Cocoyea, San Fernando. 

The five were represented by attorney Petronilla Basdeo. They were charged with possession of 61 rounds of nine-millimetre ammunition, and possession of an Astra pistol. 

The five were arrested by police in Princes Town on Tuesday. 

Constable Marash of the Southern Operations Unit laid the charges.
