Barataria man dies in vehicular accident

 Fifty-year-old Anthony Rouse, of Fourth Street, Barataria, is dead following a motor vehicular accident along Eastern Main Road on Thursday afternoon.

Sources told the Express that the incident took place at about 4 p.m. in Barataria and involved a white Toyota Corolla motor car.

According to police, the car was proceeding in an easterly direction along the main road, when, upon reaching the vicinity of Anointed Hands restaurant, near Eighth Avenue, the Corolla was forced off the roadway after it was given a “bad drive” by a vehicle going in the opposite direction. The driver of the Corolla lost control of his car and the vehicle slammed into a nearby wall. 

The police and emergency health services were notified and the victim was rushed to Port of Spain General Hospital for treatment. 

However, the victim eventually died.
