Belmont man shot dead

A BELMONT man was shot dead on Friday night for reasons unknown, police said.

Police said around 6.30 p.m. residents of Manila Street, Belmont heard several gunshots and called the police.

The victim, Marvin Brown, 36, also called "Strongie", was found slumped behind the steering wheel of his car. His body was riddled with bullets.

There was nothing missing from the car.

A team of officers along with detectives from the Port of Spain CID along with officers of the Homicide Bureau later visited the scene where they conducted enquiries.

District Medical Officer Dr Robert Niadike visited the scene and ordered the body be moved to the Port of Spain Mortuary.

A post mortem is expected to be done tomorrow at the Forensic Science Centre, Long Circular.

Homicide Bureau officers are continuing investigations.
