THE body of a woman was found with multiple stab wounds in an empty lot in San Fernando yesterday morning.
Police officers are calling for members of the public to help identify the East Indian woman, who is light-skinned, five feet, three inches tall, slim and has short, black hair.
She is believed to be in her 30s.
Her body, which appeared to have been dragged, was found around 1.20 a.m. near a mango tree in an empty lot on Robertson Street, near Cipero Street, San Fernando.
There were stab wounds to the chest, stomach, back and legs, officers said.
The purple top she was wearing was raised and her long, white pants were down to her knees. She was also wearing a pair of pink slippers.
An anonymous caller contacted police officers and Inspectors Mohammed, Ramkhelwan and Griffith visited the scene.
Corporal Fortune is continuing investigations.
