Body found at beach

By Rickie Ramdass rickie.ramdass@ trinidadexpress.com

A BODY was found floating at Macqueripe beach yesterday evening.

Police believe it is that of Curtis Sydney, who disappeared earlier this month after jumping from some rocks into the sea in order to recover his wallet.

Officers said the body was spotted around 5.30 p.m. by bathers, who later contacted police.

The Coast Guard was also called in and proceeded to remove the body.

Investigators said they were unable to identify the body, but stated that they were of the belief that it was Sydney.

On February 7, Sydney was fishing on some rocks with friends, when his wallet fell into the water, police said.

He later jumped into the water to recover the wallet, but was unable to do so before he disappeared.
