ToolsCadiz 'ready for tomorrow'New Minister of Tourism Stephen Cadiz has said he does not see his shift from the Ministry of Trade and Industry as a major change in responsibilities. Speaking to the Sunday Express yesterday via phone, Cadiz said tourism was one of the largest industries in the world as far as contributions to GDP and he looked forward to tourism becoming a major part of Trinidad and Tobago's economy. "As any portfolio in Cabinet, we have a job to do. I'm ready for (tomorrow) morning to start. There's a lot of work, Minister (Rupert) Griffith (now Minister of Science and Technology) had laid some serious groundwork and we will build on that and will make tourism a major industry for Trinidad and Tobago, so I am looking forward to the new position," he added. Cadiz admitted that he would miss his Trade and Industry staff, but was prepared to make the handover. —Carla Bridglal |
