Caroni woman dies in crash

A 51-year-old woman was killed in a vehicular accident along Uriah Butler Highway, near Chaguanas, on Sunday.

Dulcie Ramjitsingh, of La Paille Gardens, Caroni, was driving her white Mitsubishi car south along the highway when she lost control and crossed the median.

Police said Ramjitsingh crashed head-on with a pick-up headed in the opposite direction. She died at the scene around 2.30 p.m.

Ramjitsingh, who was not married and had no children, was employed as an office manager at Knowledge Zone Ltd in Maraval.

Her employer said: “She has worked with us for the past four years. She was very helpful and always willing to do anything. She was an all-rounder in her job.”

The Express was told that Ramjitsingh cared for her elderly father who was very fond of her.

Central Division police are investigating.
