ToolsCharged with giving schoolmate 'poison'A 14-year-old boy appeared before an Arima magistrate yesterday charged with administering a poisonous substance with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. This stemmed from an incident which occurred on Monday at their school in Blanchisseuse when it was alleged that he had given his 13-year-old schoolmate a poisonous substance to drink. The victim began vomiting and was rushed to the Port of Spain General Hospital then to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex in Mt Hope where he was undergoing treatment up to press time last night. Appearing before Senior Magistrate Lucina Cardenas-Ragoonanan in the Arima First Court the boy was not called upon to plead as the charges were laid indictably. He was then granted bail in the sum of $40,000 and the matter was adjourned to July 16. —GG |
