Chinese nationals nabbed in ‘prostitution ring’
TEN CHINESE women, along with one male, were detained last weekend on suspicion that they were involved in a prostitution ring, following police investigations into another Chinese man reported to be missing.
A raid was carried out by the Counter Trafficking Unit (CTU), along with Western Division Task Force officers, who searched several properties in the Woodbrook area. The police said “at these locations, officers found ten females and one male, all from China and Hong Kong. Three of the foreign nationals were found to be illegal migrants and were handed over to Immigration Division”.
The other detainees were taken for screening by the Counter Trafficking Unit. Officers also seized a large sum of local currency. They added that investigations are ongoing.
