A 27-YEAR-OLD Cocorite man became the country's latest murder victim after he was shot dead while standing outside his home early yesterday morning.
The death of Atiba "Radio" Logan has carried the murder toll for the year so far to 362, according to an Express tally.
According to investigators, at around 3.30 a.m., Logan was standing outside his Harding Place apartment when neighbours reported hearing several loud explosions.
Upon investigating, the residents found Logan lying along the roadway with several gunshot wounds about the body.
The police were contacted, and a party of officers from the St James Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Western Division Task Force and Homicide Bureau of Investigation (HBI) arrived on the scene and rushed Logan to St the James District Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Police said Logan was well known to them as he previously had several run-ins with the law. His death has since been classified as drug-related, said officers.
Officers from the Homicide Bureau are continuing investigations.
