Cop charged with drunk driving after crash

A 29-YEAR-old police officer attached to the Central Police Division was arrested on Saturday in Tabaquite for drunk driving.

The police constable, who has two years service, was detained following a vehicular crash in Brickfield Village.

According to police, at around 8.20 p.m. Rio Claro police officers went to the scene to investigate the crash and interviewed the constable who was driving one of the damaged vehicles.

The police officer was arrested and taken to Rio Claro Police Station where a breathalyser test was administered.

The policeman was subsequently charged with driving under the influence of alcohol beyond the legal limit.

He was charged by Sgt Alexis Garcia.

He is expected to appear before a Rio Claro Magistrate today.
