Cops find two live grenades

Two live grenades and a quantity of 16-gauge shotgun ammunition were seized yesterday morning by officers of the North Eastern Division Task Force during a police exercise in Aranjuez.
According to police reports, at about 8 a.m., a team of officers from the task force made their way to Samaroo Street, Aranjuez.
Once there the officers, acting on information received, made their way to an empty parcel of land obliquely opposite a popular bar, and they conducted a search of the surroundings. In the land, the officers found a pigtail bucket partially concealed within a tree trunk which contained two live grenades as well as a quantity of 16-gauge shotgun ammunition.
The officers immediately cordoned off the area and contacted the Bomb Disposal Unit. The unit was able to secure the explosive devices and remove them from the scene to an undisclosed location.
No one was arrested yesterday morning after the find. Police sources however told the Express that several persons are expected to be interviewed soon.
