Cops ‘getting help’ in Seetahal murder probe

THE investigation into the May 4 murder of Senior Counsel Dana Seetahal continues as the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) said yesterday they are receiving assistance from international groups with regard to the murder probe.

Acting Commissioner of Police Stephen Williams told reporters at a news  conference at the Police Administration Building, Port of Spain: “The Director of  Public Prosecutions (DPP) has been engaged very early in this investigation so the DPP continues to be regularly briefed by the investigators on this case.”

He said, “The TTPS has suspects in mind. I will not furnish you with that and I will not furnish you the names of the suspects but we have sought the assistance of international bodies and we are receiving assistance from international bodies in the investigation.”

The investigation continues to be the number one priority investigation for the TTPS, he said.

“We will, in fact, continue to do everything possible to solve that crime,” Williams added.
