Cops kill man in Morvant

A 24-year-old man was killed a shootout with police in Morvant last night. The deceased suspect has been identified as Adrian Charles, 24, of Chinapoo, Morvant.

Investigators reported that a party of North Eastern Division Task Force Officers led by Sgt Cornelius Samuel, were on mobile patrol along Mapland, Morvant, when, at about 10:45p.m. they came across two men.
It is reported that without warning, both men pulled out firearms and shot at the officers. The policemen returned fire.

One suspect was shot multiple times while the other fled.
Some of the officers gave chased after the suspect who escaped.
The officers then rushed the injured man to the Port-of-Spain General Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
