Cops: Con-artist can help

POLICE are searching for a female con-artist and two men who they believe can help them make a breakthrough in the murder investigation of Gasparillo engineer Andre Joachim.

Investigators said the three suspects are known to police officers in the Northern and Western Police Division.

Joachim, 69, was found dead at his house at Springlands on Friday morning.

An autopsy found that he choked on a piece of cloth found in his mouth.

At around 2 a.m. that day, police said they received a phone call from a woman who said two thieves had entered Joachim's house.

When police arrived at the scene, only Joachim's body was found, bound and gagged in a bedroom. The house was ransacked, but police said it was uncertain whether he was robbed.

The female suspect is believed to be in her late 30s, and has been residing in Trinidad for over five years.

Neighbours told police that a woman with a Guayanese accent was employed with Joachim as a housekeeper.
