Cops crack Sando crime ring

POLICE believe they have cracked a ring of thieves preying on residents of a Housing Development Corporation (HDC) neighbourhood near San Fernando.

Two men, of Petit Valley, were arrested by police who found a quantity of car accessories and audio equipment, keys and other personal belongings.

The items belonged to several residents of Ridgewood Gardens, Golconda.

The suspects, ages 24 and 26, of Morne Coco Road, were detained in Tarodale Gardens, near Ste Madeleine, by police officers of the San Fernando Task Force and Ste Madeleine CID on Thursday after enquiries.

Police also recovered a loaded Smith and Wesson revolver.

The suspects will be charged with robbery, larceny and possession of a firearm and ammunition.
