Cops find grenade

Officers of the Northern Division Task Force and CID yesterday found a hand grenade hidden inside an abandoned house at Bye Pass Road, Arima.

The team was headed by ACP Glen Hackett, Snr Supt David Abraham and Insp Ramnaresh Seecharran.

Police said shortly before noon yesterday. CID and Task Force officers, including Cpls Harewood and Ali, PC Phillip and WPC Timothy, went to the house.

A search was conducted and officers found a plastic bag containing a live grenade.

Crime scene investigations from the Special Anti-Crime Unit of Trinidad and Tobago's Firearms Laboratory in Cumuto were called in, and examined and took possession of the grenade.
