Councillor dies: Nafeesa pays tribute

Santam Ramjit, councillor for the Aranjuez/Warner Village electoral district, has passed away.

In a media release, Nafeesa Mohammed, chairman of the Barataria/San Juan Regional Corporation, stated that Ramjit, who served since 2003, died yesterday morning.

She extended condolences on behalf of the council and the corporation's administration to Ramjit's family.

Ramjit, she stated, was a dedicated and humble servant of the people who tried his best to represent the burgesses in his area.

"He was a team player who acquired considerable experience in politics and governance. He understood the importance of networking with critical agencies and was often able to meet the interest of the burgesses in his district.

"His absence from the council will be felt by all of us. May his soul rest in peace," stated Mohammed.
