Craig and Alexis to act as deputies

ASSISTANT Commissioners of Police Raymond Craig and Simon Alexis have been appointed to act as Deputy Commissioners of Police, filling a vacancy left by the resignation of former deputy commissioner Jack Ewatski.

The Police Service Commission (PSC) announced the appointments yesterday.

The appointments are effective from August 7 to January 31, 2013.

Former commissioner of police Dwayne Gibbs has also resigned.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Stephen Williams has been appointed acting Commissioner of Police until next January.

The PSC stated in a release yesterday: "The appointments were made consequent upon vacancies occasioned by the appointment of Mr Stephen Williams, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), to act as Commissioner of Police (CoP) and the resignation of Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Mr Jack Ewatski, and in accordance with the Commission's constitutional responsibilities, as stated in Section 123 (1) (a) of the Constitution and Legal Notice No: 103 of 2009."
