A CONTRACT employee was rushed to hospital yesterday after he received an electric shock while working near a high tension wire in Guapo.

Ganesh Jaikaran, an employee of Industrial Transport Ltd, is in serious condition at hospital, police said.

According to a police report, at around 9 a.m., Jaikaran was operating a Hiab crane in a pumping station, located a short distance away from Southern Main Road, when the boom came into contact with the wire.

Jaikaran was taken for treatment at Point Fortin Area Hospital and was later transferred to San Fernando General Hospital.
