POLICE are investigating the theft of over $94,000 from a vault of a credit union last Saturday.
According to a police report, at around 10.30 p.m. three men armed with guns and dressed in black clothing entered the compound of the Palo Seco Credit Union along the SS Erin Road.
They broke into the building and confronted the security guard who was inside.
They tied him up and placed him in a room and locked it, police said.
Police believe that the robbers brought their own tools to enter the credit union and cut through the steel vault containing the cash.
At around 3 a.m. the security guard freed himself and walked to a nearby gym where he met another security officer and the police were contacted, police said.
Corporal Sobie of the Santa Flora Police Station is investigating.
