D’Abadie resident ambushed, killed
A D’Abadie man was shot dead early yesterday morning, bringing the murder toll so far for the year to 278.
The comparable toll for last year was 297.
In the latest homicide, police said that around 1 a.m. the victim, Trevor Alexander, 23, was walking to his Beharry Trace, Red Hill, D’Abadie home when he was ambushed and shot.
Alexander died on the spot.
A team of officers from the Homicide Bureau as well as the Arouca CID visited the scene following which the body was moved to the Port of Spain Mortuary.
A reason for this murder has not yet been established.
Meanwhile, two men who were found shot dead in a car in Diego Martin on Saturday afternoon were identified by the police.
They were among the five people killed in Trinidad between Friday night and Saturday afternoon.
They were identified as Kevon Ivan Mohan, aged 24, of Williams Street, Success Village, Laventille and Hakim De Frietas, aged 21, of Baird Street, Carenage.
Around 1.30 p.m. on Saturday the men were seen driving through the area in a silver coloured Nissan Almera along West View, Terrace, Four Roads, Diego Martin following which residents reported hearing gunshots.
When residents came out they saw the car with the bullet-riddled bodies of both men inside.
Homicide Bureau officers are continuing investigations.
