CCN Group marketing manager:

CCN TV6 viewers can expect "comprehensive" coverage and a focus on local athletes during the Games of the XXX Olympiad in London, England. This assurance was given yesterday by Caribbean Communications Network (CCN) Group Marketing Manager Marcus Chin-Aleong.

He noted that TV6 sports journalist Vinod Narwani is part of the 17-man contingent sent by International Media Content Ltd and they will be doing extensive coverage of Caribbean athletes.

"And Vinod is supposed to be our representative (for) T&T to make sure that we are well represented in terms of our athletes getting their fair share of coverage," he said.

He noted that Narwani will be doing pre- and post-interviews with the athletes, interviews with fans and anything special related to Trinidad and Tobago in London. He will be doing two live reports per day.

Chin-Aleong explained that the coverage runs from 3 a.m. to 6 p.m., with a brief break for Morning Edition and regular programming from 6 p.m. to 8p.m. TV6 will resume coverage of the Olympics from 8 p.m. to 3 a.m., with recorded coverage of events not shown during the day.

He was speaking as CCN TV6 hosted a ceremony to mark the start of the station's Olympic coverage at Woodford Cafe, MovieTowne, Port of Spain, yesterday.

TV6, official broadcaster for the Games being held from July 27 to August 12, began its live coverage of the event yesterday. CCN CEO Shida Bolai, members of CCN's marketing department and a number of sponsors were in attendance at the ceremony.
