Seeking blessings

The Ganesh murti (an image which represents the form of Lord Ganesh) is made of clayand is placed in a temporary shrine and decorated with jewelry and flower garlands.

Devotees offer laddoo (favourite sweets of Ganesha), flowers, money and their prayers, seeking blessings and continued success and good fortune to their lives, at the feet of the murti.

Ganesha is also known as the elephant-headed one and is seen as the remover of obstacles and Lord of Wisdom.
