Divas tent opens

Carnival 2013 begins in earnest from tomorrow evening with the opening of the Divas tent at the Mas Camp Pub, corner French Street and Ariapita Avenue, Woodbrook.
Now in its 10th year, Divas started at the Hilton Trinidad in 2004 and with all female cast has provided women in calypso a space and a voice.
Managed by Rudolph Ottley, the cast will feature Karen Eccles, Stacy Sobers, Angela Ramoutar, Tanaj Smith, Kerine "Tiny" Williams, Lyncia Morris, Kelice Pascal, Crystal Charles, Lisa "Diva" John, Catherine Williams, Sharon Alexis among others. Music will be supplied by a young and vibrant orchestra out of COSTATT and chorus by the Divettes. Showtime on Wednesday is 8 p.m.
